Terms of service
Last updated 7 October 2026. Changes to the counting rules are announced to registered dealers by email at least 14 days before they apply.
1. Price listings
- Shops register at /partner; our team reviews every account before prices go live.
- Prices come from your Google stock feed (XML, RSS, CSV or TSV), by URL or file upload. We fetch feed URLs daily.
- Prices must include VAT and match your car page on your site. Offers are sorted by price, cheapest first.
- Products are matched to cars in our catalog automatically; uncertain matches wait for your confirmation.
- Update your feed at least once a week, or switch it off. After 6 days without changes we email a reminder; after 7 days your prices are hidden until the next update.
2. How we count clicks
A click is a reader following a “Dealer offers” link to your site. Every click passes our redirect (/go/…), which records it and opens your car page on your site with UTM tags utm_source=chinamotor&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=price_comparison.
Not recorded at all
- Browser prefetch and prerender requests (the reader did not click).
Recorded but not valid
- Bots and automated clients: requests without a user agent, with a known crawler, monitoring, preview or scripting user agent, headless browsers, and requests without an
Accept-Languageheader. - Technical repeats: a click by the same visitor on the same offer within 30 minutes of a previous click counts once.
- Obvious fraud: after 10 valid clicks to one shop by the same visitor in a calendar day (UTC), further clicks that day are not valid.
Valid clicks
All recorded clicks minus the three groups above. Valid clicks are the figure we report and use in commercial offers. Your dashboard shows all, valid and filtered clicks, with the reason for every filtered one.
Unique visitors
An estimate of how many different people clicked. For each calendar day (UTC) we count distinct anonymous visitor IDs among valid clicks, then add up the days of the period. The same person visiting on three different days is therefore counted three times; within one day they count once, however many clicks they make.
3. Emails we send you
- When your account is approved, switched off or switched on again.
- When your feed has not changed for 6 days (reminder) and when your prices are hidden after 7 days.
- When we could not load your feed URL two days in a row.
4. Reader reports and switching off an account
Readers can report an offer (“Price wrong?”) — for example a different price in the dealer, a car no longer in stock, a wrong model or a broken link. We review reports; several reports about one shop within a week are checked by our team.
We may switch off an account, which hides all its prices, for one of these reasons:
- prices repeatedly do not match the dealer’s website (confirmed reader reports);
- the feed is not kept up to date;
- a breach of these terms;
- at the dealer’s request.
We always email you the reason, with details where possible. Your settings and statistics are kept, and the account is switched on again once the issue is fixed. If an account is closed and deleted, we email you as well.
5. Privacy
- We do not store IP addresses or user agents with clicks and do not set cookies for click counting.
- The visitor ID is a one-way hash of the IP address and user agent with a random key that changes every day. The previous day’s key is deleted, so IDs cannot be linked across days or traced back to a person.
- Shops see aggregated figures only. We store for each click: time, offer, car, page block, referring page on our site, country (if known), price shown and the anonymous daily ID.
